Anything she wrote was wonderful, in my book. I'd love it if someone would do a collection of her Christmas stories. "Standing In the Spirit" is an annual re read for me around the last weekend in November.
I just wish that she had written more. Both the Mirabile and the Hellspark universes just cried for another visit, for the wonder of the characters as well as the fabulous settings.
Hellspark is one of my favorite books; I've had Uhura's Song for a couple years -- I think I won it in a charity auction at MilPhil -- but I'd never read it. Janet did good.
Oh, I did it the other way round. Uhura's Song, then Mirabile, then a lot later Hellspark when I finally met her at a Worldcon (I hadn't seen an available copy before that). Mirabile and Hellspark are also on my "to be reread" list.
Uhura's Song is one of my favorite Star Trek novels. And I love her other books as well. I wish someone would publish a collection of her short stories. I've tried to chase them all down but I think I've missed a couple. The Christmas themed ones are especially wonderful as others have pointed out.
There are only a very few Star Trek writers whose books I'll buy without reading the back and leafing through it. She's one of them. Diane Carey is another, but hers have a different spirit to them.
