Can anyone walk me through the process for changing the "current music" option to "currently reading"?

I hadn't considered it...but it is true I am more often reading than listening--when in heavy design mode, music (unless it's memorized) distracts me.

In the table find user and click on the edit button
in the field under Edit Layer Source copy and paste:
set text_meta_music = "Personal soundtrack";
or whatever you want it to say and hit the Compile button.
that should do it!
I got mine to chane that way, anyway.

click on the tabs and find something you'd like to override. It can be anything I think, like the "leave a comment" text, or a link color. This will generate a "layer" in advanced customization.
Now, go here: http://www.livejournal.com/customize/advanced/layers.bml
You should see something like this:
Click on edit and then copy and paste into the field this:
set text_meta_music = "Currently reading";
and hit compile.
It should work like this:
