The wind was blowing like a sonofagun this morning, and did its best to push poor Binjali off the road a couple times. The windmill down the road was spinning so fast that its silver blades were a blur against the silver sky.

The day-job was in the Wait phase of Hurry-Up-And-, so I spent some time reading, and spent some time staring out the window, working out various phrases in High Liaden in my head.

Mid-morning, the library staff kindly hosted a reception for the academic secretaries, plying us with sugar and caffeine, and giving us the Queen's Tour of the library and special collections. It really is a wonderful library, and the repository for an astonishing number of treasures.

Came home and got the toys hooked up to the new UPS, reviewed with the cats the concept that Steve was at Boskone, worked for a bit, ate a sandwich, and now...I'm bushed. I'd better do the dishes before they morph into a Dish Monster, but after that, man, I'm for bed.

Tomorrow's Saturday.

Yes!

Oh Woe! Three Cats, one Slave.

This is hardly fair, you know. I hope you explained to them that Fair sometimes fails.

Consider yourself lucky that you were able to keep Binjali on the road. The wind blew a couple of tractor-trailers off the Pennsylvania Turnpike. See "http://www.philly.com/inquirer/local/pa/20090213_High_wind_knocks_out_power_to_45_000.html".
