Certificate of Destruction and Other Strange Pleasures

So the guy from Shredding On Site came by this morning and converted All Those Job Applications into My Weight in Confetti (no, really), ending the festivities by issuing me a Certificate of Destruction. I'm so proud.
Meanwhile, Amazon says that Longeye will be in stock on April 3, but! there's already a reader review on the page. I wonder what's up with that?
It took a couple of phone calls to establish without prejudice that the vampires are open for bidness between the hours of 7 and 7 (or, as the young lady who answered the phone at the lab asserted, "From Seven-Ay to Seven-Pee.") -- which is useful information to have, since I need to pay them a visit some morning this week.
The minor program tried to resume batshit mode this morning, but I think -- I hope to ghod -- I managed to head it off at the pass.
Excepting that one minor start, the first day after Spring break has been notable for its calmness. May this be a harbinger.

And that's not a review, it's a freakin' book report! There are several "Top 500" Amazon reviewers who are apparently given books in advance of the release date, despite Amazon's protestations to the contrary. I've seen this on several books, in several different genres. I'm delighted to see that he gave it 5 stars, however.
I had ordered mine back in July, so I'll just be glad to have it on hand, but that must be frustrating for you to get such mixed messages about one of your 'children.'

Date: 2009-03-30 08:40 pm (UTC)Isn't it awful? Five stars is nice, of course -- especially after all the hate that Duainfey got -- but I worry that the "review" will spoil the story for readers. From what I've heard from writer friends that this has happened to, Amazon doesn't consider Massive Spoilers to be "inappropriate", so I can't ask that it be taken down, even for a few days.
*Wonders if she should ask someone else who's read the book to post a review, just so there would be something on top of that one...*

Well, people do sometimes wonder why I can't tell them if the book is out or not. It seems like such a simple question.
