Sleep Rays

Came home to find the house full of Sleep Rays. Mozart is emitting from the African on the sofa; Scrabble from high atop Mount Hefalump and Hexapuma from the comfort of his (formerly Mozart's, formerly my) rocking chair. I gotta tell ya, it's brutal in here.

Enormously busy at the day-job -- three posters constructed, appproved and sent on to be printed, around the administrivia attendant upon the campus visits of two! more! job candidates. May I just say that I'm ready for it to be summer break? Not that it looks or feels anything like summer up here in the Northern Kingdom. It's overcast, and a very chilly 41F, but at least it's not raining.

At the moment.

It's looking like tonight is a Bookkeeping Night. I really can't put it off much longer -- and I'm not going to enjoy doing three months' of financials before I can even think about closing out the year. Sigh and sigh.

Members of the Hexapuma Fan Club will be pleased to know that the Magic Pink Stuff is doing its Magic Thing. He is considerably less drippy and much more alert. Well...OK. He's not alert now, now he's asleep. Duh. But when he isn't asleep? Those three hard-workin' hours spread throughout the day? Then he's alert.
