Later that same day...
Thursday, May 21st, 2009 08:20 pmThanks to everyone for your input on IKEA in specific and desk solutions in general. *Continues to mull.*
I wrote some today. In and around that, I went to the day-job, where there's not much doin' at all, did grocery shopping, picked up Magic Pink Stuff for Hexapuma, and not-so-magic thyroid stuff for Sharon, and came on home, wondering why I was feeling so very...warm.
Ninety-three degrees fahrenheit/34 degrees celsius would be why. What is this? Summer in Baltimore? Tomorrow, we're only promised 80F/27C -- a cooling trend! Then back to liveable -- mid-60s/15ish -- on the weekend. Sunday's looking to be a pretty day for the graduation ceremonies. Not that I'll be there; I'll be home, writing. Getting a wrap on the first draft is looking more and more possible.
On the other hand, writers are Really Good at self-delusion.
Going to do dishes now, and go to bed early, hoping to sleep.

90K! Time to party!
Date: 2009-05-22 01:16 am (UTC)So does this feel like spring? The leaves popping out all over, the colors shifting into green of every shade, and shadows spreading underneath the branches? 90,000 words, a climax and resolution in sight perhaps, lots of threads and characters working.
Or is this late summer under the lazy sunshine with crops almost ready for harvest?
And according to some of the snippets, even the cats got into the act. Now will there be a flood at this point, harkening to a recent spillage? And how would our various friends look upon spilled water?
90K party time -- the altitude on this pile of words is getting pretty high. Worditude? No, wordage, that's a better term. Then we can get "your wordage may vary" on the dealer's stickers, words per gallon on various beverage bottles, and so forth.
Congratulations! You have achieved 90Kness. 10K more, 10K more, into the valley of completion, wrote the tired writer?

Date: 2009-05-22 05:53 am (UTC)If the place in Skowhegan sells secondhand goods, you'll also create less demand for new products (which may or may not be important to you; YMMV), and if it's local, you get the added! extra! benefit! of patronizing a local business that will keep most of its money in the community rather than shuffling it overseas. FWIW.
Lord, that's a lot of acronyms. Gah.
