Today. . .

Today has been a day of parts.

Indeed.

Parts.

The waking up part was comfortable, and the breakfast part was all right. The hair cutting part was. . .disappointing, but at least I don't look like a dandelion fluff anymore.

The mail -- that part was briefly exciting, when I discovered that there was An! Envelope! from our agent hidden inside the sales flyer. Alas, a royalty check was not enclosed, but only a statement indicating that the German editions had not earned out.

*Sigh*

The bookkeeping part was. . .about what you'd expect.

Lunch -- that part was quite enjoyable, and extended by an hour as Steve and I worked out some bits for the next novel (the one after I Dare. Which has to be, um, pitched, so we should, yanno, have some idea about what's going to happen), but! we noticed that Hexapuma-cat kept running upstairs and down, kitchen to catbox, and complaining the while, so we investigated, that investigation leading to a lightning visit to the vet, who confirmed that, indeed, Hex has a bladder infection, and lo! we have returned home lighter by seventy-odd dollars, and clutching a vial of Magic Pink Stuff.

Writing the InfoDump, coming soon to a screen near you, was. . .OK.

More parts of bookkeeping have been accomplished, and more yet must be, before the day is done. Ho-Hum.

Also? It's raining.

Tomorrow is Tuesday, and I am wanted at the day-job. Wednesday, as well. On Thursday, I finally get to see the orthopedic doctor about the knee, which -- of course! -- has been behaving itself beautifully.

Sometime. . .Friday, most likely, I'll sit down again with Carousel Tides and try to figure out how to fix it.

Steve and I watched King of Masks last night, which I recommend highly.

And now. . .more bookkeeping.

Stay dry.

What is it about cats and lightening our wallets for us? We noticed some gunk in our kitty's eye on Saturday around lunchtime and rushed her to the vet before they closed at 2 p.m. Turned out to be a nasty infection that somehow cost us $400+ and we have to go back in two weeks (for yet more money, no doubt) to have a stitch removed. (Am I the only one who didn't know that cats have a third eye lid? Very odd.)

Here's hoping your kitty is feeling better soon!

I will admit to having this momentary image that the third eye lid went with the third eye, often missed by those expecting cats to be less enlightened... but I think you mean that each eye has multiple lids? Perhaps this helps with their smiles?

You could probably raffle off the non-existent notes about possible ideas and plot lines for the book after I Dare, if you want to see a feeding frenzy :-)
