Go, me.

It's a beautiful, blustery day, and the wind chimes are in good voice. In a few minutes, we're off to Deepest Waterville, to sign a swath of books.

What're you doing this weekend?

Surviding is a Good Thing(tm).

A little earlier I finished Fledgling, I'll be commenting more on that over in the community in a bit (but summary: well done ye!). I'm going to go out and see if I can get a pillow I actually like (I used to have one which was, I think, stuffed with some kind of cotton, and was firm and kept its shape as what I wanted without either going flat or going back to the shape the manufacturer made it; the former happens to most feather pillows and the latter to most artificial ones). And get stuff to eat (not chocolate, I've had rather more of that than I should while reading). And a new headset with microphone (my previous one having lost the ability to hear me).

Had a sudden urge for McDonald's hashbrowns this morning, don't ask me why, so drove over there for breakfast. It's a lovely day - mid-60s, aiming for low 70s - so I may actually go do some shopping in the neighborhood. Then some reading (have the new Carols Dunn, since Fledgling isn't here yet) and some stitching.

Enjoy your day!
Mary

Today I spent mostly at the races; it was the annual Cup day, and I was on live-background-music duty with the brass band. In between playing I ate apple-pie flavour ice cream and bratwurst (not simultaneously), and - not being much interested in the whole horse-racing thing - read Roger Zelazny's A Night in the Lonesome October. (I suppose I could have waited until actual October to read it, but Australian Octobers don't really have the right atmosphere anyway, and there's no way I was waiting all the way until next autumn.)

Tomorrow the band is on live-background-music duty again, not at the races but at the monthly markets.

(And next weekend we're off on a road trip to play in a massed brass band event at the state fair. After that, we've got some time off, which is probably just as well.)

I dusted off the first chapter to my DF serial. I think I'll work on that this weekend, in between helping out with the half-dozen or so projects Husband has planned for himself.

That, and try to find where the hornets are getting into the house.

Cleaning up hard drive of old computer before it moves to it's new house on Sunday. Then I'm working on a new illustration, more in keeping with what it should be.

Movie tomorrow! Probably something that doesn't require a brain -- something like "cloudy with a chance of meatballs".

Avast, mates - Saturday is International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

In other news, we got folks musicians in the bookstore both Saturday
night and Sunday afternoon. My kind of weekend. :)

Going to the local farmers market to get some fresh peaches, then coming home to make a new recipe for peach cake out of the Penzey spice catalog. Sounds delicious.

Spent morning at a Reef Coral Swap Fest.(Ooh, pretty colors!) Lunch was Happy 50! to baby brother (cake! ice cream!), long business meeting. Now dinner, then a movie, wish it were Whiteout at the theater, but it will be the DVD of Only You instead, and home made popcorn!

I'm busy surviving the flu! If this is the swine flu, it's a lot milder than the normal flu I get...
