Uhura's Song is one of my favourite Trek novels ever. I was so sad to hear of Janet Kagan's passing.

I have really enjoyed reading Laurie R. King's treatment of Sherlock Holmes in "The Beekeeper's Apprentice" and subsequent sequels; They seem to me to be the series that presents a Holmes most like the original. Fun reading, and an intriguing mystery too.
