As reported earlier in the month, there have been doin's doin' in the deep background.
We couldn't share details then, but we can now.
*Ahem*
We know that many of y'all have been patiently (and not-so-patiently) waiting for the sequels to I Dare and to Saltation.
We're pleased to announce that, as of this afternoon, we, through Madame the Agent, and Toni Weisskopf, Publisher Extraordinaire, have closed the deal for the book that is both of those things, working title: Ghost Ship.

oh yeah! 8=)
Date: 2009-10-05 10:56 pm (UTC)...uh,...hmmm...bit of a problem though...average read time for a great novel is maybe 5-8 hours....average write time for authors of same is maybe 6-10 months, and then more interminable months during which publishing company does its thing, and only then is it time for reader to go to "work"....
There's just GOT to be a better (faster yet same extremely high quality) way to craft and tell stories!
Oops! Sorry, my inner engineer and my inner child just ganged up on my rational side and got away from me there for a few moments...nevermind...continue...

Date: 2009-10-06 06:54 am (UTC)Great news. Guess this sequel is due to be release about middle of 2011? Will there be snippets of the much awaited sequel to I Dare on the Baen bar?

Date: 2009-10-06 08:14 am (UTC)The Ghost Ship, hmmm. I expect that that means that certain things that happened at the end of Saltation will remain in some shape or form in the published version of Saltation
Meanwhile, what's the current work in progress?
(And of course now I want a sequel for Balance of Trade to get generate, too....)

for my self and your readers as well as for the Authors and publishy peoples.
Hurrah!!!

Date: 2009-10-06 03:13 pm (UTC)I also wanted to return the thank you to both of you from the afterword at the end of Fledgling. I got my copy yesterday, finished reading before I slept - and I loved it. There is a big difference between the first draft and the published version, but Theo and her story that I fell in love with during the serialization is still there - just better.
Thank you for that experience and the wonderful story. It was great to hear that our input was valuable. I had such fun reading the installments and participating in the discussions... if you ever want to do it again, I'm there.
