And so it begins, again
Saturday, November 7th, 2009 06:19 pmI need me a Ghost Ship icon.
We have reports that Fledgling is landing in the UK and in Australia. We do have a couple more Found Souls to get back into the mail, but for most intents and purposes, all of the subscriber books have been mailed. Remember! In the US, they are traveling by Media Mail, which may take up to 21 days to reach its intended destination.
The snow has been melting steadily all day, though it's not all gone, yet. A warm, sunny day tomorrow should take care of the rest.
We have nailed down and passed on our itinerary for travel to Oasis 33 in May. We'll be staying over a couple days after the con to do what promotion we may, and also to be tourists on a very minor scale. We may have to have a bake sale in order to support this adventure. Stay tuned.
Most of today was spent right here at the dining room table. As soon as I finish this blog entry, I am going to rise from my chair and go into the kitchen to do the dishes. And that will be the sum of my labors for the day.
What did y'all do that was fun and exciting -- or, failing that, useful or profitable?
Progress on Ghost Ship
Her working theory that Val Con was six whiskers short of a kitten had been shaken by the fact that someone she knew to be solidly sensible -- in particular, their shared father, even now escorting her to her ship -- seemed to accept this plan as a pattern-card of conservative action.

Date: 2009-11-08 06:37 am (UTC)Lovely little snippet, thanks. Miri takes Val Con as an authority most times -- fun to see an alternative view. But Daav, a pillar of sensibility? Well, it's all in your point of view ...

Date: 2009-11-08 08:12 am (UTC)I spent hours (and hours) yesterday cleaning following an exciting visit from the electrician that resulted in two! fully! functional! outlets in the living room where previously we had one dead one and one that occasionally sent power surges through my UPS and set off the alarm. (!!) Hurray for the landlord's dime.
Today was one errand (two boxes of books donated at the library), lunch out, and an evening gathering, there to kill 'em and loot the bodies, also known as D&D (4th Ed.).

Date: 2009-11-08 11:26 am (UTC)Yesterday I had my back garden demolished. It was an "urban wilderness area" (well, it was a wilderness, totally overgrown with brambles etc., I live in an 'urbs', and it is an area!) and now is almost flat. Until next summer when I expect the wild things to return.

Date: 2009-11-08 02:12 pm (UTC)Also I can report successful Fledgling deliveries on 4 of the 5 I am responsible for, and I bet on the fifth too, but I haven't spoken to that friend in a few days.
Yesterday, I went to a day spa and immersed myself in relaxing decadence of a massage, hot tub, sauna, steam bath, and a lovely jaunt around the 500 acre property. Or at least as much of it as we could reasonably cover in one hour. It was a glorious day.

Date: 2009-11-08 02:37 pm (UTC)1. Shopping with my daughter which netted a pair of purple jeans for her as well as a number of seriously cool tops. I got two pairs of pants, two sweaters, & a top. $16... I love thrift store sales. heh.
2. OTOH it meant that my knees totally went out and left me spending most of the rest of the day in bed reading Crystal Soldier. This also meant that I missed going to The Basement and hearing my brother's band The Coolin' System play. meh
3. Started work on another Gray Cat Christmas graphic, because... I just had to!! When I'm done, it will go up here (http://www.cafepress.com/KatsKats/6895680) in my CafePress store.
Of course, now I should be getting busy and writing in my blog (http://katskatsnews.blogspot.com) which I missed yesterday (I blame shopping!).
I want a hot tub. Which will have to wait until we hit the lottery. ::sigh::

Date: 2009-11-08 09:57 pm (UTC)Indian Summer has arrived, 70º. Play with puppy (toss ball/toy down the steep hill so he has to run up it every time. Pooped pooch=15 minutes.) For whatever reason, this is his favorite fetch toy.
Grocery shopping without dog, and general sight-seeing country drive for about an hour, found coconut cream pie along the way!
Have lunch (leftover pizza and cheese stuffed manicotti). Play with puppy. Work on making thank you card for Nasa Tour (http://redpimpernel.livejournal.com/147510.html) during Texas Trip.
Play with puppy. Make dinner, chicken pasta salad. Failed attempt to watch a movie-on-demand from Dish Network, watched live TV instead, some Queen Latiffa movie. Read in bed.
Sunday:
Make homemade oatmeal with brown sugar, cinnamon & pecans for breakfast. Play with puppy. Read. Take puppy to "puppy play class" where he can play/be terrorized by a dozen other puppies. Clancy likes all of the people better then any of the other dogs. After 45 min. he is exhausted.
Sandwiches for lunch while we read the Sunday paper (dog sleeps). Now laundry, football games, and trying to see if satellite internet connection will allow me to watch the V pilot from Hulu.com (no), while dog sleeps. Tonight, possibly play with puppy once more before the sun goes down. Laundry continues, mediterranean chicken for dinner, some type of TV/reading entertainment mixture.
This is Clancy:
