Do you like all the books you read? Or are there some authors that you probably won't pick up again?

'Course not. This is just a list of the books I've read.

Or are there some authors that you probably won't pick up again?

There are, but, yanno? The downside of having been executive director, then president, of SFWA, and being lucky enough to have traveled to so many conventions is -- I know 'way too many science fiction and fantasy writers. And, rumor aside, I don't enjoy wantonly hurting people's feelings.

Now, I can tell you about a few of the books I've read this year that I thought were excellent (which doesn't mean that the rest were awful):

Flesh and Fire: Book One of the Vineart War, Laura Anne Gilman

Edison's Eve: A Magical History of the Quest for Mechanical Life, Gaby Wood

Thirteenth Child, Patricia C. Wrede
