It was a crisp, pretty morning. The grass sloping down to Johnson Pond was white with frost and the down leaves looked like party favors, brown and limned with glitter.

I had the felicity of using the granny cart to move a (heavy) box of applications from the top of the hill to the bottom, doing an exchange of hostages and dragging the recovered box back up the hill. Alert auditors of this journal will recall that there are very few wheel-friendly routes on-campus, so this was rather more of an undertaking than it would otherwise have been, though, as I said, pretty morning, and I was honestly glad of the walk.

The reason for the walk. . .we won't dwell on that, except to notice, in passing, that some people are far too Artistic to schlepp boxes.

The rest of the day was data entry, with a half hour at the end to read, and so to home; dishes, laundry and Ghost Ship.

Since it was so very helpful for Mouse and Dragon, I spent a little time setting up a wiki for Ghost Ship, and wrote a few words, too.

Dinner time, now, and plotting with Steve. We're giving a talk at the local middle school in a couple weeks and need to come up with a topic, as well as a couple of SRM thingies.

Progress on Ghost Ship

One of the best investments I ever made in my health and future well being of my back was to make the Library buy me a 2-wheeled hand truck! Books are sometimes just heavy bulky things to be moved from place to place...

When it was my turn to refill the 5-gallon water bottle, my co-workers showed me what I was expected to haul it around with - a dinky little wire luggage roller. It was too short for me (6'1"), and not not designed for water hauling duties. The second time the bottle fell off (I learn slowly, sometimes), I went to the hardware store and bought a hand truck with a slightly concave back. It's in the office, but it's mine. They can't lay me off, or I'll take it with me - THERE'S job security for you! :o)
