Thank you, back-brain, for reminding me that there is one more major character in this story, and by introducing the book from her viewpoint, we get that action! I've been faunching after for weeks, with a Special Added Bonus of Suddenly! the conversations between the other characters, oh, make sense.

You would think, she said aggrievedly, that I would know this stuff by now.

Congrats on the breakthrough. I can't wait for the finished product. It would be really interesting to find out after reading the book, which character this was. I love these insights into the writing process; being so non-creative with stories myself.
