Five things make a post, less two

Thing One:
I am behind on answering my email. I trust that this surprises no one. As per usual, I will get caught up someday soon, but today is not that day. If you have written to me on a time-critical topic, please send again, with, uh, "deadline" in the subject line.

Thing Two:
A man must say goodbye to a friend he has watched over for more than 50 years.

Thing Three:
To-Do List:
1. Laundry (started)
2. Clean cat fountain and replenish water
3. Vacuum
4. Do dishes
5. Put away soup Steve made before breakfast
6. Write

I hate reading stories like this. =(
Trees are so my friends.

I've been waiting for an opportune time to mention that you HAVE to see AVATR (preferably in 3-D), if you haven't yet. A massive tree is a central character/location. This one needs to be seen on the big screen, it will lose much in the translation to DVD.

Some years back now, we lost a 120+-year-old elm in Waterville. I still miss that tree. Remembering that it was very ill -- which it was -- helps a little. . .

Yeah, a lot of people have been saying this, but I'm afraid both it and Sherlock Holmes are doomed to Netflix, due to Budgetary Constraints.
