I hate reading stories like this. =(
Trees are so my friends.

I've been waiting for an opportune time to mention that you HAVE to see AVATR (preferably in 3-D), if you haven't yet. A massive tree is a central character/location. This one needs to be seen on the big screen, it will lose much in the translation to DVD.

Some years back now, we lost a 120+-year-old elm in Waterville. I still miss that tree. Remembering that it was very ill -- which it was -- helps a little. . .

Yeah, a lot of people have been saying this, but I'm afraid both it and Sherlock Holmes are doomed to Netflix, due to Budgetary Constraints.
