Well, spit. I've never seen a Cirque du Soleil show live, and I'd been looking forward to the opportunity to see the resident show at Disney Whatever when we're in Orlando in May.

Except, according to the website, La Nouba will not be presented during the following dates: May 27 - June 7, 2010, which would be the entire time we're in Florida. Sheesh.

Also, it looks as if Abney Park has a chance to play in Boston -- on February 24. Now, dern it, that's just teasing me.

In news closer to home, the laundry's not done, and neither is the book. The laundry, at least, will be finished tomorrow.

The only reason we got to see Kooza live, was because my MiL bought the tix.}:P It was a birth day gift to me.

At $80+ a pop, we wouldn't have been able to afford it.}:P

I relate. We were figuring to hold a bake sale, ourselves. But to be so close and not see it...

Coincidentally, I'm in the middle of planning a trip to Orlando for June.

No Cirque in my future though.. mostly time spent in the land of the mouse with the under 10 crowd.

Saw the Cirque show {on impulse} @ WDW by the skin of my teeth - they left the next morning for an extended vacation. Well worth the money.

I see the rough draft for Ghost Ship is slightly over 22.5% done. Not meaning to beg or anything, but....

Could we have at least a one sentence snippet when you post progress?

Pretty, pretty please?

Alas.

Snippets happen when the author is So Moved. This is because each book is different.

Mouse and Dragon was a speedy, happy book and thus lots of snippets were scattered along the blog-side.

Ghost Ship is shaping up as a shy, tentative book and I don't want to scare it.

Fair enough. I wouldn't want you to scare it, either!

Oh, bad luck. I saw it in 2008 on a Disney trip, and it was wonderful. That was the only time I've seen Cirque in a dedicated venue, and it does lead to a different type of show. Not that their shows aren't pretty distinct anyway....

Well, maybe Reno in 2011 WorldCon then. If I am not mistaken, they have a Cirque du Soleil show also.

Oh, well - there is the Pirate Dinner Theatre in Orlando that someone recommended. It isn't as if there is a shortage of things to do. Just narrowing it down to what you actually have time and money to do will be painful enough.

WDW Cirque du Soleil

Being a huge fan of live Cirque du Soleil (lCdS), we saw them at Walt Disney World (WDW) in 2004. Of all the lCdS shows we have seen live, the WDW seats were the most uncomfortable. I am 6 feet 4 inches and my wife is 5 feet 2 inches, neither of us enjoyed the seats. The show was awesome.
