Let's see...

Baked bread, did dishes, made minor webpage updates, vacuumed, washed some clothes, all to the accompaniment of good music, then down to work.

You make this sound very pleasant!

My day had similarities, but no bread baking--sigh--just sniffing the fresh sourdough at the restaurant last night. Congrats on the words--I did the (I hope) last polish on the synopsis, and sent it along to the agent, may he like and sell the already completed novel to somebody.

I could use some good writing news.

Well, it was pleasant. I like to make bread, and used to make all of ours, before Life Got Complex. Getting back to it is ...comforting. And I will figure out what on earth went wrong with that cheese bread. I am a determined woman.

I'm not crazy about vacuuming, laundry, or dishes, but good music makes any chore go down easier. And I'm pleased to report that I am still in voice. I was singing along with the Wayback's take of "I Wanna Be Like You" (from Jungle Book), when Scrabble came charging up from the basement, mewing up a storm, threw herself against me and tried to climb up. Wouldn't calm down until I stopped singing. That's power *g*

Good on you for finishing the synopsis! Fingers crossed on good writing news.

I have had cats who complain when I tune my harp, and one who liked to sit and listen. Cats seem to vary as much, if not more than people!

About bread...

Could the cheese have been too cold? Slowing the yeast? Ot perhaps it upset the water/dry ratio in some way?

Totally guesses off the top of my head--I would like to learn to be better with bread, but so far only my bread machine versions have been successful--and since I can't eat it right now, not much use in baking much.

However--I inherited my mother's mother's touch with pastry. I confess to absolutely killer cookies, scones, cakes and pie crusts/baked cheesecakes.
