Thanks to all who weighed in on the WordPress/LJ crossposting issue. I have established that it works. So! If I ever figure out how to find the blog post on WordPress after I make it, or to file it on the sidebar, so that any random visitor can find it, that will all be in order.

Finding the post: Under Posts, click Edit. (If your menu along the left side just shows icons, click the tiny arrow-headed dividers to make it pop back out to the full width with text.)

Adding things to the sidebar is easy (http://wordpress.tv/2009/01/12/adding-a-widget-to-your-sidebar/) if your theme supports widgets. Some older themes do not. You would be looking for the Recent Posts widget, I think.
