As in past years, this is an April Fool's Free Zone*. Please respect this.

Today marks the Thirty-Second Anniversary of the merging of the Miller and Lee households, much to the consternation of the then-resident cats.

*...it's not that I don't have a sense of humor (which I've been told); I have a lively, if occasionally inappropriate, sense of humor. It's because April Fool's Day has, IMNSHO, become a forum for abusive behavior couched as "jokes," which allows the perpetrator to take and hold the dubious moral high ground of "You can't take a joke!"

Does that mean I can't recommend Alan Gordon's Fool's Guild series to you? Medieval mysteries with the main characters based on Feste the Fool and Viola from the Shakespeare play Twelfth Night. Very good reading, imho.

Congratulations!! Did you ever get the cats to like or even tolerate each other? My husband of only 3 years had only one cat (an autistic Abyssian mix) and introducing him to the five cat Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde was... interesting.

I am extremely glad that you merged your households, your writing skills, and your cats. I enjoy hearing about all three (and reading the results of the second!). May your love grow like Korval's Tree.

The only April Fool's Day jokes I appreciate are the clever fake news stories, and not the ones where idiot radio personalities say that various people have died and later rightly get fired for it. I like the sort like today's NPR spot talking about how Congress was taking a page from impoverished school districts that have been forced to shorten school calendars. Yes, going forward, all months, with the exception of February, will have no more than 29 days. This will save us millions. MILLIONS, I tell you.
