Saltation at Number Four on the Wall Street Journal Bestselling Science Fiction for the week ending April 25.

That’s just. . .

Wow.

Also!  I have here in my hand — an authors’ copy of The Dragon Variation, coming very soon now to a Bookstore Near You.

I wanted to be the first to w00t!

This was most excellent news which nicely finished my boss-free work day.

They're working on Ghost Ship at present.

If living well is the best revenge, then selling well is... kudos indeed!

I'm re-reading Mouse and Dragon again -- and I'm going to have to develop a new hobby to stop thinking about Ghost Ship. I thought I outgrew all this anxiety years ago, like before-Christmas nerves about whether Santa's sleigh would make it through the snow.

By the way, did you all have giant Queen Anne's lace snowflakes this week? They were beautiful but just a bit preposterous on the baby maple leaves and the daffodils! That's Maine.

The really, really cool part of this is that the WSJ list is "point of sale", not shipping from a warehouse. Actually walking out the door. Encouraging booksellers everywhere to order more books and promote them!!!! Yay!

Finally got my hands on a Real Dead Tree copy of SALTATION, and shall read it soonest.

But just looking over the cover, a small typo on the cover needs correction on the next edition: Mary Balogh, who provides a lovely author's blurb on the back cover, has her name mis-spelt as "Balog".

A minor matter, but since her name is a huge draw among romance fans, probably should be fixed.

Oh, drat. I hate what that happens.

Probably should be fixed, agreed. Won't be, unless or until there's a mass market. Baen isn't fixing anything for the reprint; they're reprinting.

Many congratulations on Saltation selling out the first printing so quickly, and making the WSJ best-seller list!!!!!

On another note, FYI, there was a long and complimentary obituary for George H. Scithers in today's print edition of "The Philadelphia Inquirer". I tried to find an electronic link to it on-line, but could not find the obituary on line.
