Five things make a post
Sunday, July 11th, 2010 10:37 am1. I am behind on Almost Everything, across all aspects of my life. This includes email, and is not likely to change soon. *Insert mea culpas as appropriate here.*
2. We watched the Tim Burton Alice the other night. I quite liked it, felt it did no violence whatsoever to the original story, being, yanno, a sequel, and think that those persons who were busily falling on their and their neighbor's swords shouting "blasphemy" ought really to get lives.
3. The Expanding Universe contest still has six days to run! Have you entered it? Have you blogged it? Have you pointed a friend in its general direction?
4. The book description and advance quotes for Carousel Tides have fallen, I hope temporarily, off the Webscriptions page. For a description and some background on that book, and to read the first three chapters, check out the Carousel Tides website. The paper book is available for pre-order online from BN and Amazon; and I'm betting you can order it from your local indie now, too.
5. The Leewit, myself, Bechimo and Theo will be on the couch.
See you later.

Re: eARC, maybe?
Date: 2010-07-11 11:22 pm (UTC)See, there had been a Carousel Tides eArc in the Lee-and-Miller Webscriptions list as "forthcoming" and now there's not. I'm hoping it's just a glitch, but Arnold -- who kind of single-handedly runs the Webscriptions side -- has been in the hospital for some time now and the gentleman who is valiantly filling in for him already had a life when he stepped up to bat. So it may be that eArcs for books which are not lead books have been triaged -- which would be understandable, but, at least to me, very disappointing.
