1. I did my first batch of BillPay payments this morning. Hello, Twenty-First Century! Now if only some of those outstanding income-bearing checks would get their cans to Maine, generally, and specifically into the Lee and Miller checkbook, life would be. . .somewhat easier to fund.

2. As of Right Now, 28 Lucky Winners have claimed the code to receive their free electronic copy of The Dragon Variation.

3. This morning's excursions include a stop at the Town Office to pay the yearly toll for both cars. Sigh. Should've planned that better.

4. Ghost Ship has poked its head out from beneath the sofa and allowed me to rub its ears. No sudden noises, pls, and absolutely no requests for snippets.

5. Mozart is asleep on top of the back file cabinet. The stack of filing on the front file cabinet is so tall that I can't actually see him, but I can hear him snoring.

A problem we found with a Bill Pay service (from our own usually good bank) is that if there's a mistake and the money doesn't go to the right place at the right time, it's tied up in limbo so that we can't pay the bill out of pocket either.

That was just a timing error; the payment was somehow scheduled to go long after the due date, but was deducted from our account in advance, and the bank refused to change the scheduling.

I'd hate to think of what could happen if the bank had sent the money to the wrong place -- we'd have THREE problems to deal with. The intended payee, the bank, and getting the money back from the wrong payee.

NO problem!! I've discovered snippets have me bouncing off the walls ( all six room surfaces actually ) waiting.

Hello. I'm in florida and if you don't object, I'll be reading your posts.

My snoring creature behind my heaps of paper is Moe, a persian with a lion cut and before long he'll be pushing the heap to the floor, with malice aforethough. And he's so stinking cute I let him get away with it.
