rolanni: (what it's like)

The heat broke overnight (thank you, Canada!) and today dawned bright, cool, breezy and in all ways admirable.  I, of course, have Writing To Do.  A pretty fair amount of Writing To Do, in fact.   Be that as was, I kept finding excuses to go outside, and it was barely 10 o’clock in the morning.

So I did what any red-blooded writer would do when simultaneously faced with a day that must be worshipped and words that must be written.

. . .I went to the Other Office.  In my case, that would be the Belfast Office.

Here’s a view from the office:

. . .and here’s the office itself:

I also walked up into town, bought a hat, had lunch at Scoops and Crepes, and tried, but failed, to get a haircut.

Now, to turn the morning’s notes into a scene.

See y’all later.

What a fabulous view! Can you write in that kind of locale?

Happily, the morning's work was sketching in the next scene. This afternoon and evening's work is fleshing out the scene and tying it in, and for that -- I'm at home.

...thinking about taking The Leewit and going outside under the maple, mind you, but home :)

Excellent office for a day that must be worshipped! I wish I could do that...

I can neither read nor write in bright sun anymore--I'm blind when I look up, from the glare.

I'm glad you have such a lovely office, and that the heat broke at at last.

Being from NYC originally and very geographically challenged I looked up Belfast ME in Google. Came with some images. Very pretty. Love your office in Belfast. Am an old person so technologically challenged also. Wish I could offer a photo of the first step of the Grand Staircase outside my office window: red cliffs as in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument of southern UT. Interested folks can look that up. If it had been made a national park instead of being put into the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) ...no you don't have that back East... to placate the federal government hating locals it would be the largest national park I believe although I could be wrong. Come out and visit sometime. Anyway the red desert here. I do miss New England. Glad to see the photo of the very pretty harbor there in ME.
