rolanni: (Mozart Seriously Doubts This)
[personal profile] rolanni

We have met the laundry and it is vast.  Less vast than it was, granted, but vast nonetheless.  We’ll have at it again tomorrow.

I’ve taken to writing on The Leewit standing by the bookshelf in my office that overlooks the side wilderness.  The bookshelf is just the right height for typing, as it happens, and I don’t tend to fall into InstaNap(tm) when I’m standing up.

Mozart was in for awhile, helping me write by stretching out on the windowsill between The Leewit and the Actual Window.  Then he decided to Be Adorable and play with the mouse, then he wanted to pwn the keyboard.  These attempted takeovers were thwarted, whereupon, he took over the desk chair, which was fine; I wasn’t using it anyway.

Oh, and before I forget — Ram Island Light is for sale.  There’s only one bid so far — for a mere $10,000.

Steve’s home, did I say that?

Progress on Ghost Ship:

66,571 words/100,000 OR 66.57% completed

Oh, hey!  How many people would come to a book launch party in Old Orchard Beach, Maine in October?  No promises; just trying to get a sense of the crowd.

Book launch, I would love to be there. If it is not on one of the weekends I am working here. http://www.ctfaire.com The only weekend that is free is Samhain weekend. I could not think of many better people to be near at that time.

I would love to if it wasn't such a long plane ride. I don't do sardine very well. But it is OOB!

We might. Or wish we could . . . it's a bit of a drive, and Wife suffers from motion sickness.

I read that as meaning Ram Island is Steve's (spiritual) home.

Thank you! I thought perhaps I was the only one who had that momentary slippage of thought...

You are going to break a champagne bottle over a book and then set it off in to the ocean ? Any excuse for a party....

would consider traveling to Maine; am moving to the Washington DC area this weekend, so it's less of a trek than from Milwaukee.

Count me in. We usually head north around that time of year anyway.

Celebrate!

Happy to hear about your upcoming celebration - would love to come...but distance and time don't lend themselves to the occasion.
Just finished reading Mouse and Dragon followed by Fledgling...now on to Saltation.
Thanks!

Sharon -- I would love to come celebrate your book launch at the beach - I keep promising myself a beach visit somewhere, soon - but don't know how feasible it will be because of the distance & timing. When in October?

Still, sounds like a great idea & I'll make it if I can. The bookis great so far!

The book is great so far. I am hooked on your books! I live in California and have limited vacation from my day job, but would come if possible. Kathy F.

Oh, Gwd I wish I could come to Old Orchard Beach. I was last there in the summer of 1958. I'd like to see it again and celebrate Carousel Tides with you.

Unfortunately, if I have any money for travel at all in October, I'll be going to WFC instead.

Good luck. Have fun.

Maine at any time...

Would love to come but the first two weeks are booked tight with a library conference and a surprise b-day party (I'm in charge of getting the GoH to the party). But heck - I may be retiring soon so make me a tentative...

I'd love to come, but it depends on timing. I'll be on the east coast early in the month, and might be able to re-arrange the trip home if timng works favorable. If not, well, I've already got the book on order....

Wished I lived closer and knew you better. I'd gladly come over and take over laundry so to free you for writing. I don't mind doing laundry. Honest. I think it comes from watching my maternal grandmother do hers by hand with a washboard. She didn't think washing machines got clothes really clean. Lord knows my laundry skills are far and away better than my writing skills! As this post proves...grin.

Book party??

Way cool. As long as it wasn't Columbus Day weekend (the obligatory 10/10/10 wedding to go to), I'm on for OOB. T'isn't that far.
