43. But I had to think about it, first, before I remembered. So maybe I'm not?

I'm also 43, though that doesn't really seem possible. I don't feel like I'm 43, except for my knees.

34.

That doesn't look right, but it's true. My /parents/ are 35.

(well, a calendar suggests that they're 60 & 59, but that's beside the point.

I don't know when I started reading SF; I think Xanth was my first adult book (Ogre, Ogre) and I was maybe-10?

67, turn 68 in 2 weeks. Been reading SF (actually started with Norse mythology) since I was 5 and went the usual route of Heinlein, Dickson, Andre Norton et al to get where I am today, which is impatiently awaiting GHOST SHIP. I might have to learn to ebook just to get it a month or two earlier! Also wanted to note that I just ordered a poster of the GHOST SHIP cover from David Mattingly...got a very nice email from him...and very laudatory comments about Sharon and Steve's work.

Also, what is Teh Shiny? Must have missed that discussion. Can I hope it is more Liaden Universe? I am half way through CAROUSEL TIDES (lovin' it) and would welcome another story in that universe, but the more Liaden the better!

Teh Shiny is the book I want to write, rather than the book I suspect that I ought to write. It's set on Surebleak.

I'm glad your enjoying Carousel Tides and I hope the Ghost Ship art gives you much joy!

57. and a half or so. Started reading SF very early,8 maybe? cause my older brother was into Edgar Rice Borroughs, John Carter of Mars. Then on to Asimov, Clarke, and Heinlein. Speaking of books,Sharon, do you remember reading an English suspense author whose protagonist was named Julia with a cousin named Colin( who married a Greek girl named Aglaia)? I think Julia's father was an English diplomat. Books were out about the same time as Helen McInnes and Mary Stewart. Late 60's? Can't remember the author's name nor find anyone who does. Driving me crazy lo these many months! Jenny from CO

I think the author is Ann Bridge (aka Lady Mary O'Malley). Main character is Julia Probyn. There are several books:

The Light-hearted Quest
The Portuguese Escape
The Numbered Account
The Dangerous Islands
Julia in Ireland

A google search of 'julia colin aglaia' found it in Google's scan of Mystery Women: An Encyclopedia of Leading Women Characters in Mystery Fiction by Colleen Barnett. If you hadn't remembered Aglaia, I'm sure this wouldn't have worked!

I turned 51 in September. Spousal Unit Mike is 52.
Earliest story read (by myself): "All Cats Go To Heaven" at about 5 years old.
Earliest novel mightily struggled with (above my competent reading level but I was stubborn): The Foundation Trilogy at 10.
Both parents were big SF readers.
