Slow at the day-job; two faculty members in, and closeted with grading.  One in by eight and out by eight-ten, wishing me a good holiday as they went past my door.

I read, and thought about George, and made some notes on George.  On the way home, I picked up a bottle of Magic Pink Stuff for Hexapuma who, on top of Everything Else, has caught a cold.  I stopped at the post office.  I came home.

Is fascinating, nu?

Once home, I sat down at the desk and wrote 2,029 words straight through.  Now, I have dishes to do and cat boxes to clean, and dinner.  Mustn’t forget dinner.

It did snow today, a small amount, very wet, which then turned to rain and washed itself away.  Ah, well.

Progress on The Book Presently Known as George:
10,830 words/100,000 OR 10.83% complete

The delm would not speak to him in the Low Tongue — that was for kin, for friends, and for agemates. That being so, then it was not the delm, but Cousin Miri whom he faced.

He was not altogether sure that was better.

Yay, more wordage! I don't want to jinx anything, but George seems to be rather well-behaved thus far. (Knock on wood?) The snippets are wonderful.

. . . Hmm. "Cousin." Considering the content of the last chapbook, I'm thinking Quin, or possibly Syl Vor. The younger generation is commences their adventures, I hope.

I have to admit, I'm thinking that the last "sunny and pleasant" outside turned into a bit more of an adventure than one might want a youngling to take on, and Cousin Miri is picking up the pieces... oh, this is going to be good!

Ah-HA! So George is 'continuing adventures', not 'once upon a time'!*rubs hands together in anticipation*

Sorry about Hex's cold. I'm very familiar with that pink stuff. It should work pretty well.

George is expanding nicely. Whoever that is is in big trouble. I wouldn't like to face Miri either. Cousin Miri here is speaking for herself not as part of the Delm. Still pretty scary. As someone else commented the bright and sunny day was probably too much of a temptation.

Here it's been raining since last Friday without stopping. A huge Pacific storm just won't let up. Another one is on its way. CA is facing flooding and landslides. There is even flooding here in our little UT desert town. Part of town may even have to be evacuated. We are definitely not used to this here up on the CO Plateau in the desert at 5,000 feet. Thursday it might snow a bit. Not looking forward to that. Friday is supposed to be sunny. Let's hope so before we all float away.

Fascinating snippet - I'll be pondering that off and on for days. Thank you!

Much better to be facing "Cousin Miri" even if her tongue leaves him flayed....
