End as you mean to begin

My grandfather used to say that you should end the old year as you wanted to continue in the new year.
That being so, we’ve spent the day writing, here at the Cat Farm and Confusion Factory. In a little while, I’ll start heating the oven, and Steve and I will have a glass or two of Sangria with our pizza. Maybe watch a movie.
And tomorrow, we’ll write some more.
I hope that the new year brings us all many days of doing what we most want to do in the company of those we love best.
Progress on The Book Presently Known as George:
22,152 words/100,000 OR 22.15% complete
Veeno gave him a nod. “Little kid in the waitin’ room. Looks like a cookie’d cheer ‘im up.”

Re: Or not... Please!
Date: 2011-01-01 04:40 pm (UTC)Essentially it is the regular work week, with a bit of overtime (which I volunteered for[1]) plus a bunch of computer work, which, at least, I can (partially) do from home which is pushing me up to 12 hours a day, which I also volunteered for[2][3].
Depending on how much work needs to be done, I may actually be able to take my weekend (Mon/Tues) off.
[1] As in...OK to give me a bit of overtime over the holidays, since I don't have family/etc locally.
[2] We have to rebuild some of our schedule paper when the operator schedules change...of course, we got the paper printouts on Tuesday, the data on Thursday, and the changes go into effect on Monday...
