Nook Newbie Question Two

So, if I make notes on the Nook in my imported pdf working manuscript, is there a way to get them out of the Nook and back onto my desktop? Or do I need to transcribe them by hand?

Don't know, but can you reverse the process that you used to move the pdf file to the Nook and get a copy into your... pc/mac? I think pdf comments are stored in the file, so if you get a copy of the file over, then the pdf program -- Adobe reader -- on your pc/mac should show the comments, too?

Someone at MobileRead has discovered (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1140783#post1140783) where Nook stores annotations, but it seems there's no easy way to extract that info in human-readable form :(

BTW, I can recommend MobileRead (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=209) for any questions you might have - lots of info there and people are generally friendly and helpful.

on a previous subject: when I find a link that is offering ebooks I know are illegally copied, to whom can I report it? Especially in the case of thousands of books offered - I know it's just as illegal for one as 1000, but it's more likely to be prosecuted for 1000.

I generally let the publisher know -- they have thanked me, and indicated that they would set the lawyers on them. I'm not sure if that's cruel and unusual, but...

What Mike said. It also helps -- a lot -- if you can point out that Big Name Author X of the appropriate house is among those being ripped off.

I recently saw a slide sharing site where someone had converted entire books to (I guess) PowerPoint! I sent a note with a screenshot to the author, who forwarded it to his publisher.
