Thanks to everyone who participated in the discussion about nice/competent heroines. You guys have been giving this stuff some thought!

In the meantime, I went to the day-job yesterday, because -- hey, no more sick days -- did my shift, came home, fell asleep on the couch, got up for lunch and went to bed early. This appears to have helped matters along, health-wise, though it's certainly not the way to either finish a story or sign a short thousand chapbooks and get them ready to mail.

This evening, I'm readying a few Carousel Tides for their diverse trips to new homes, then maybe signing some chapbooks. Oh! And the questionnaires for the Sleep Clinic arrived today.

The fun? Never stops.

How's it going in your corner of the world?

Sick and miserable, here. Second day in BED sick, actually. My butt is complaining and my brain has gone to seed.

It will get better. EVENTUALLY. No way out of this but up...

Aaagh, poor you *offers tea*
Nothing much here, except a bit worried about one of the cats ... peeing in strange places and hiding ...

My cat did that last year when I put him on a pain killer for pancreatitis. I don't remember the name of the pain killer but he went back to his litter box and stopped running away just a few days after switching to another pain med.

We recently put our arthritic cat on Tramadol and it's made such a positive impact on his quality of life.

@attilathepbnun, I'd definitely take him/her in to get checked out. If it's a male, he may be blocking (crystals in the urine) or it could be 'just' a urinary tract infection or a bunch of other things. Hope the cat is feeling better soon.

More queries sent out this morning. Nearly had a heart attack when I saw a RE: in my inbox moments after sending off the last one. I thought it was a rejection, turns out it was one of those instant reply emails. *headdesk*

Started a new knitting project too. Just a scarf with really cool black/red eyelash yarn. :)

Waiting for Wildfire to have her kittens. Five new Coonlings are expected. I thought for sure she'd have them yesterday, but she faked me out. :) She's nesting increasingly, though, so I hope, they'll greet the world very soon.

Don't know how you do it. Hope you're feeling better soon. Comment from Growly Cub good luck to Mama Cat birthing her kittens. I hope that Growly Cub is what I call a "responsible breeder". That is all good care for her mama cats and kittens:facilities, food, vet care... Very expensive.

Am looking forward to the Skyblaze chapbook.

Still thinking about those heroines. Kate wasns't the slightest bit "replusive" Come On...as Dr. Phil would say, "Get a Grip!". I thought Kate was very nice. She treated her one employee very well and was very nice to that big Native American man that she likes. And also to her Grandma's friend. . The big Native guy: A very interesting character. Hope you'll be able to write a sequel someday. You know, when your rich uncle dies and leaves you a large sum of money.
C.

Feel free to visit our website at www.firemountaincats.com to learn more about the breeding program, philosophy, health testing, etc. Yup, it's very expensive. I always tell people who inquire about a breeding pair or want their children 'to experience the miracle of life' that you need a second job to be able to afford it, if you do it right. Or that rich uncle... :)

Beautiful cats. If I didn't live so far away, I would love one of your red MCs. My current is the icon.

At the risk of quoting you back to you, "...What I will tell you is that we all do our best; that we all make errors; and that those who love us will forgive us."

I hope you feel more yourself soon.

PS That's from my all-time favorite quote of your stuff --- which
helped me a lot when my Mum was dying of cancer. Sigh.

I thought I would actually get some work done today. Silly me! Two meetings and then I spent the afternoon trying to trace down how much of our software had not been ordered. All last semester the Department Chair kept saying "it was all taken care of". Nothing got ordered.

My guess is that he will try to blame our poor over worked secretary. She assures me that she never saw a rec. and I believe her. There are reasons why the Chair got a demotion.

It is officially Spring Break and I don't have to think for a week. I have a large stack of books waiting.

Oh, she's got an app. Momday morning! There's been no inappropriate peeing today, and she's come out of hiding, so I'm hopeful she was just mad at something ...
And good luck with the soon-to-be-kittens!
