Twisted Groceries

Today, we assayed the grocery store and laid down a couple bills on things like cheese, milk, vegetables, and the all-important cat food. It's been awhile since we've done a serious shop and I was nigh unto to exhausted by the time everything was put away and lunch eaten. So, I spent a couple of sinful hours on the couch, reading, arising to check email, do a small spot of writing, and give Max! his evening pill. I am able to authoritatively report that, though considerably more advanced in years, Max! retains the surprising supple strength of his youth. It's taking two of us to pill him at the moment. This will change as soon as I figure out how to embed a thyroid pill in a Zoink. Max! is a fool for Zoinks.

Before the grocery store, we paid a visit to the Fabric Center in downtown Waterville, and snapped up several bags of those plastic twisty thingies that go into the holes of ceramic Christmas trees. Between it all, we now have enough blue ones to do an entirely blue tree, which has been a goal of [livejournal.com profile] kinzel's for more than a few holiday seasons. Actually, we probably have enough twists to outfit a couple of trees, though I flatly refuse to do an all-pink tree. I wonder if the second-youngest niece is still into pink?

Lots of orders to fill -- tomorrow. Tonight, I think I'm for the couch again and another round of reading.
