Snow, Sleet and Freezing Rain
Tuesday, December 7th, 2004 08:12 pmLost focus early, somehow, and never got it back. That'll teach me to change email programs. I hasten to say that the new program -- Thunderbird -- is working very well. It's just...unsettling... to change out of the familiar to the un- after all these years of having Eudora configured just exactly the way I wanted it. Except for the mailbox crashes and other idiosyncrasies. OK -- it was in some ways an infuriating program, but it was my infuriating program. And now I have to get used to a three-way split screen in my mail program and I loathe three-way splits. Whine, sniffle, kvetch.
The day started out gray and snowy. It is now dark and sleeting -- a continuous clicking of ice pellets against the window. Mozart is asleep on his file box next to my knee. This is a change of pace; most of the day he's been asleep in the rocker in the corner.
We hear through the good offices of Kathy Sullivan that the Embiid edition of Balance of Trade is a finalist in the SF category for the EPPIEs, which is very gratifying. The judges will Speak in March during EPICon 2005, at the Queen Mary Hotel, in Long Beach, California.

Notes: Nope, not today, either. I do believe I'm getting soft.
