For those keeping score at home, Mr. Blyly reports receipt of more than 600 pre-orders for signed copies of Ghost Ship.

Thank you all for your interest in, and support of, our work!

So it did reach the number of pledges? I'll be expecting my two copies (I've already read and enjoyed the eArc, it will be interesting to see how much is different in the printed version)...

Hum... I also ordered two. I wonder if Mr. Blyly meant over 600 orders or 600 copies -- at this rate, there might well be 1200 copies to sign?

Mr. Blyly is in the business of selling books; he therefore reports in books. Six hundred books in mumble orders.

Ah, well. Double the number would have been fun! But 600 when the minimum was 100 still sounds pretty good, I think?

I hope you have some balm and some ice bags ready for your signing hand, that's a lot of books.

It's a fair number of signatures, though we've done more. Happily, this time all we'll be handling is the sheets to be tipped in. Having to move and sign multiple hundreds of bound books? That's a serious pain.

I note that -- because books are not always perfect -- Don Blyly will have more than 600 books on hand when the shipment comes in, in order to cover possible unsalable books. That means is you missed your pre-order opportunity you may still be able to get a copy -- you can check with Uncle Hugo's to see if there's still room on the follow-up list!
