Somewhere -- and I think it's a chapter head, which may narrow things down -- there is a quotation from a beam message to the Delm of Korval saying something along the order of, "Left my ring at X in exchange to repairs. Send one of ours to redeem it. Send two."

First one to find that quote wins the gratitude of an author!

Not fair posting these while I'm at work! It's from Cantra, and it's a chapter heading quote, and I think it is in Scout's Progress... but I can't check from here!
