Wonderful. It was one of the back stories I had hoped you would do. And Spode is bad news in any incarnation.

And in other good news, my copy of Ghost Ship arrived yesterday after wending its way south and east into the Great white North. I've planned the weekend for the slow re-read, rather than the hurried "what happens next" one I've just finished.
