The galleys have been read and marked up -- ought to be a way to get double use out of "read" there. Today, I'll photocopy the corrected pages and get the originals ready to drop into the FedEx box tomorrow morning on my way to gym.

Also on today's play list is packing up SRM orders and returning to Crystal Dragon, while [livejournal.com profile] kinzel gets with Jerel and company in a big way.

In between It All yesterday, we brought in the tree, which excited Scrabble no end, since this is her second-ever Solstice Tree. We got it set up in front of the double window in the living room, and put lights on it last night before we went to bed, Scrabble exercising tight supervision. It being a nice straight tree, we didn't anchor it to the wall. Tactical error.

This morning, as the coffee brewed, [livejournal.com profile] kinzel checked his email and I read the comics, there came A Sound from the living room. We ran down the hall toward the noise, passed by a calico whirlwind heading away from the noise. The tree was down across the Mencken table. We righted it, checked to see that the lights were still working and after breakfast anchored it in several places. Scrabble is still trying to lick the pine resin out of her fur. This may take a few months.

Given the chores that attend the day, I'm thinking we'll just open up the Yule Trunk and whenever one of us passes through the living room, we can chose and hang an ornament. Tree decorating as displacement activity. It's looking like that kind of holiday.
