Well, well! 2012, hey?

So far, so good.

We slept in this morning.  When we did eventually rise, Steve made us a wonderful breakfast. After, I did the first run through the accountant’s tax questionnaire, then sat Staring Into Nothing™ and occasionally scribbling notes for the next chapters of Dragon Ship.  I make it to be five more Scenes to be written (of which I only need to write four, while Steve writes number five).  How many chapters — or words — that will actually work out to, I have no idea.

I have been hitting that daily 1600 word quota (1634, 2034, 2091, for those playing along at home), which is good, because 1600 was based on the book coming in at 100,000 words, and?  I think it’s gonna be longer than that.

You’d think I’d have this stuff down by now, wouldn’t you?

This morning, I also did a little web-exploration of Chattanooga, since (asyouknowBob), we’ll be going to Chattanooga in the very near future.  I’m happy to report that there are two! carousels in Chattanooga — a new, endangered species carousel at the zoo (which is open all day, every day from 9-6); and a restored 1900s carousel at Coolidge Park — which is also open!

It must be lovely to live in a clement state.

So, anyway,  back at the computer now, having enjoyed the marvelous dinner Steve cooked for us, and getting ready to get to work just as soon as I hit ‘publish’.

How’s 2012 shaping up for you?

Re: "Check this font; is it sans-serif?" is this allegory? Looks quite seriffed to me. Happy New Year! (It's quiet is what it is!)

It is sans-serif on LJ, too, when I look at the page on the actual LJ. When I read it on my friends page it's seriffed ^^.

It's sans-serif when I look at it here at Eagles, too.

But!

The title is from the referenced song, which, as I think about it, you might enjoy.

Did I wish you and Steve a Healthy New Year yet? If not consider it wished. Hmm. 2012 could be very problematic if I get bad news from an upcoming doctor's visit on Tuesday, but so far it has been nice and quiet (except for the fireworks) and wet.

What is the opinion of the cats on the New Year?

I know... Steve should publish a cook book.

Chattacon should be quite interesting. It's one of my favorite area cons, and I'll be there. Let us know if you anticipate a friends of Liad get together. Perhaps breakfast/brunch would be nice since the Choo Choo tends to buffets. It's wonderful that you and Steve will be there. I was planning to attend, but this make it manditory.

We're anticipating hosting a Friends of Liad breakfast, but we can't tell you when, because we haven't yet heard from programming, so we don't know where we need to be when. Saturday mornings usually works out, since that's the day most people are at the con, and even day-trippers can make the breakfast, if they're so inclined.

I'm looking forward to the con and to seeing a whole bunch of you South-lying folk.

Very glad you got going well and topped your limit on Dragon Ship's daily work. Don't let anything go in your way getting ths book published in 2012 (the Year Of The Dragon...)
Wait patently to see the ARC at Bean, someday.

Best wishes for 2012, good health for both of you, and have fun at the con!
