Editing Fog

rolanniTwenty-six degrees fahrenheit (-3C) at 3:00 p.m. EST. The fog is thick amid the trees and the turkeys are heavy upon the ground. The bills are paid; the checkbook looking slightly anemic thereby; a Crisis Call from an editor who needed Last Minute Stuff Right Now! has been dealt with, and news of the box of authors' copies reported on Monday to be on its way here to the Fortress of Solitude -- briefly, it's not. Still sitting in said editor's office, for some reason he wasn't too clear on, all packed and sealed and ready to rumba. Sigh.
In between it all, editing of last night's work took place, for a net gain of about 50 words, and many tidier sentences.
