Anniversary
Sunday, July 29th, 2012 09:18 amThe sun rises today upon a day of celebration! No, not Steve's birthday -- that's Tuesday.
Today!
Today, dear friends, marks one year since I renewed my membership as a gallowglass in the crack elite corps of Freelance Writers.
Let there be dancing, and singing, and merrymaking of all kinds!

Date: 2012-07-29 02:28 pm (UTC)I happen to prefer freelancing to the shorts of "real jobs" I'm deemed fit to fill. If you're more comfortable being a salaryman, then you're very wise to stick with that.

Date: 2012-07-29 08:05 pm (UTC)I went back and looked through the blog posts from a year ago this time and noticed that the one which announced that you and the day job were parting ways also contained the announcements that a number of books had earned out, and handsomely so. I gather that since there was no mention thus far and presumably the spring/summer royalty payout and reconciliation has transpired, I guess we have to wait another period before being able to rejoice in GHOST SHIP's earn out? Since the first hardcover edition sold out and there was no second printing in hardcover perhaps it just needs the appearance of the paperback version to push it right over the top into the promised land of accruing royalties. Even though I purchased several signed hardcover copies from Uncle Hugo's and a hardcover "reading copy" from B&N I will spring for a paperback as well. It can be the purse/backpack copy for travel.
