Today is my birthday.  Yes, it is.  And I am sixty years old.

On some other occasion I'll ruminate on the irony of arriving here, which is much, much further along the timeline than I thought I'd get.  But for this morning, I'll thank all! of the folks, from Maine to Surebleak, judging from FB, LJ, and private email, for the birthday wishes.  I'm overwhelmed.  Really.

Since it is my birthday, and I get, at least in a very small way, to set today's rules of engagement, I'd like to give y'all a gift.

You know that proposal for five Liaden books that we had pitched to Madame the Agent at the beginning of the summer?  Which she subsequently pitched to Madame the Editor?

The proposal has been accepted; the books have been sold.

Thank you.

Sharon

P.S.  Regarding the above -- no, we don't know pub dates; no, we don't know the titles --  might be Bridgett, Fred, Lou, Beth, Ellen. . .  We'll let you know these things as we know them.

In the meantime. . .watch the skies.

May you and Steve have many more years together, accompanied by many more felinities. I turned 60 last November...what a long, strange trip it's been. Keep on truckin' and happy birthday.

I told my 85-year-old dad about several upcoming liaden books; he said that was a good incentive to make it to 90-plus. His family tend to be quite long-lived. He's actually in better health than I am. Y'see, there were these fun things called motorcycles when I was in college...and then I had a couple of nasty accidents...and I broke my spine and pelvis...it sorta went downhill from there. After 30 years of biking, I kinda gave up bikes for Lent, permanently, even though I'm actually Jewish. It's kinda a long story..

My celebratory best wishes to all at the Cat Farm and Confusion Factory and Archer's Beach.

BTW, my copy of Carousel Tides has been to Boston, New Hampshire, back to New Mexico. Who knows where it will land next?
