I just finished my true-up pass through the first 70,270 words of Carousel Sun. It went a little slower than I had anticipated because of having to do things like make a plan of the carousel, so I knew which animals were
near which other animals.  (OK, I think that tops my previous personal nitpicky best of having to work out all the shifts and who was on them, for Dutiful Passage's run in Conflict of Honors.)

I also had to shift a chunk of stuff further down the story, smoosh two chapters together, and do the rest of the stuff that one does in order to make sure all the lines match up.

Still to be done:  finding the proper place for Jess to come by and talk to Kate about the meetin', but I think that's for tomorrow.  Because tonight, I am brain dead.

Anyhow -- after that last bit is in place, the story will be on its downhill run; everything is forced,  and the pieces ought to snap right together.  She said optimistically.

This is good because I need to put the book aside for a few days, first for travel, and then to write a short
story.  But, still, in line to deliver the book on time.

Love this. Where I used to work, the boss's wife and I would tease each other about how anal we both were. She wasn't Virgo so perhaps we don't have a monopoly.

The halcyon weather continues. Hurricane? What hurricane? The scenes from the east coast appear decidedly surreal contrasted to the cloudless skies of our last week.

I picked up my home-grown lettuce, peppers, etc. from my local backyard grower, was let off at a delightful local Etsy craft show, and afterward WALKED 0.9 mile home on my strengthening ankle. A good day, even if since 2 pm I have accomplished nothing at all.

Looking forward to more of the Carousel.

If it's any consolation, there is a medieval mystery writer who posts on the Medieval academic list - at one point, for her research, she asked if anyone had the plans for a particular Parisian cathedral "before they did the renovations in 123-"something" (I don't remember the year)", specifically because one character was going to move towards the baptistry and she knew that the renovations had added columns... so you are not alone in your drive for perfection.

Which, of course, is one reason why you have such a loyal fan base. :)
