Steve and I had a fine time at Boskone this weekend. The Silver Anniversary panel was awesome.  Here's a picture of everyone being awesome, to prove it:

The panelists, from left to right are:  Bob Kuhn (moderator), Sharon Lee, Steve Miller, Darlene Marshall, Tom Easton, Christopher Weuve.

...I also very much enjoyed the Spirit of the Place panel, of which I have no picture.

But, wait!  Daniel Pelletier took a picture of the Spirit of the Place panel, and here it is:

The Silver Anniversary party on Saturday night went off without a hitch, thanks to the tireless efforts, and organizational abilities of  Irene Harrison, Kevin Heald, Barbara Karpel, Debbie Matsuura, and David
Decker.

The Friends of Liad gathering went into overflow space on Saturday morning, with about 20 brave people rising before breakfast in order to participate.  Here's a picture of everybody being awake:

We are now back home, having stopped on our way through Waterville to pick up Socks.

Also! Continuing a tradition, while we were away, a piece of writing business landed.  In this case, the business is the galleys for the first Liaden Universe® Constellation.

So!  How was your weekend?

Ouch. This sounds like the little guy's having problems again. Sending positive thoughts for his well being and comfort.

Ditto for Socks!

And glad you enjoyed Boskone -- wish I could've been there!

On Thursday before we left, Socks began to pound on the shower door, which is his, "I don't feel good!" signal (smart guy; very communicative), and I took him to the vet. Another blockage situation. The vet and I agreed that, rather than overburden our house sitter with two elderly cats and a younger in an apparently precarious health situation, we would leave Socks with the vet, so that they could observe and hopefully get a handle on what the heck's going on here.

We return with an adjusted dosage of medicine, and will see if that does the trick.

Sorry I wasn't there.
I've been getting through the blizzards rereading the Cantra books. I think that she would have found Surebleak somewhat more congenial than Liad. Did you 'know' when you wrote them that Dancer would turn up again?

It was on the table. In fact, it brings us into closer orbit of the original series we had plotted out, 'way back in 1984.

BTW

Congrats on your silver. Looks like it was celebrated with friends and aplomb. Can't beat that combination.

Thank you for the Socks info. He's quite my favorite web cat. Personality plus, that one. I lost both of mine last year to old age.
