rolanniWe now have a good half-dozen novel ideas to send along to Madame the Agent. Will look them over again tomorrow after doing the gym thing and fully expect to email the batch shortly thereafter.
The revision letter for the second Jen Pierce mystery ought to be hitting my desk RSN; and the _Crystal Soldier_ notes are in.
My brain is feeling a bit squishy, but it's a good squish.
In and around it all, laundry was done, cats were skritched, minor numbers of bills were paid, and dishes are about to be done. In fact, I'd intended to get up a couple minutes ago, but Mozart is trying out this new box-by-the-computer arrangement and I want him to get a fair trial (not that we spoil the cats in this house, or anything). If he accepts the box as a fair substitute for my lap while I'm working, then neither one of us will have to put up with my typing with his chin on my wrist. He'll be close to get his pets; and, tall as he is, all he has to do is sit up to read (and he does) the screen -- aha. Patia is being fed in the kitchen, and there goes Mo. I'm a free woman.
Dishes, check. Dinner, check. Movie? Maybe.

Date: 2004-04-19 08:25 am (UTC)Mozart, now -- we were told that Maine Coons "want to help" their people, which was OK by me -- I lost two helpers last year and missed the company. I guess I really wasn't prepared for a 15-pound cat who wants to sit on my lap, chin on my wrist (he used to put his paw on the enter key. After several long discussions, he allows as how the Actual Keys belong to me. Mostly.), for hours, if that's how long I'm typing. What's really kind of weird is that he won't sit on my lap at all when I'm reading. Nick and Kodi both loved to read. He likes to watch videos, though. Kids! Honestly.

Date: 2004-04-19 06:46 am (UTC)I have decided I have to reread all the Liadens this summer, along with Mageworlds. I have a strong space opera itch, but I gotta wait until school slog frees me up to read one book after another and hold in mind the meta-story.
In the meantime, though I like all the characters, more about Korvals is goo-oood...

Date: 2004-04-19 08:36 am (UTC)More Korval stories will probably happen. We're getting questions about What Happens After _I Dare_ (and _The Tomorrow Log_ and _Balance of Trade_...), for instance. The next book -- which is the sequel to _Crystal Soldier_ -- finishes up the current contract, and then -- We'll See. We're not against writing more Korval stories -- we like them, too *g* -- but it's looking like time to branch out a trifle.
