The link carries me to what seems to be the right type of icon, showing a a rectangle (tape?) playing with a sequence bar moving across the bottom. I can adjust the volume, or pause the scan, but I never actually hear anything. Yes, I have my volume knob on my speakers turned on. Sigh.

You inspired me to give it another go. I have a new computer with Windows 8, after 11 years on XP3, so explored various settings and found that there was a volume switch set to mute. Problem solved, and I am enjoying the podcast. Thanks!
