rolanni: (So There)
[personal profile] rolanni

So, yesterday, I bought an Article of Clothing.  Here's a picture, and a "history."  Do recall that the source is the J. Peterman catalog.  Also, I did some writing.  I have now hit 25,000 words on three separate occasions.  Too bad those words aren't linear, or I'd be three-quarters of the way done.

This morning, Steve and I took advantage of the second sunny day in the last three (yesterday, it snowed.  And rained.  And snowed.  And rained. Then, we had fog, after which. . .it rained.) to go into town and take on groceries and other needed things, such as cat litter and bird food.

We came home and I made dinner: sauteed yams, with onions and garlic and ginger and a leetle bit of Italian Seasoning, because it's not really cooking if it doesn't involve Italian Seasoning, and we had chunked Swiss cheese on the side, and now. . .

. . .it's time to go to work for the day.

What're y'all doing today that's fun?

Steve is sorting clothes, prior to washing them! Oh! The exciting life of the writer!

replacing one of the fence posts in my white picket fence.. the old one snapped in the high winds. Today, since the hole is dug to extract the old post and cement base, I will paint the new post and proceed with the measuring, the measuring, the alignment, more measuring, and playing with cement.

Making chili (no beans or tomatoes, just meat, onions, garlic, chili powder) from some of my recent purchase of 1/8 of a local grass-fed steer. It smells wonderful, though I'm afraid I was too heavy-handed with the chili powder. I'm kind of wimpy about hot stuff.

I was having my water heater replaced - slight drip, but as I'm on the 9th floor in the condo, it was important to prevent a future flood.

That is a *brilliant* Article Of Clothing. I own 2 J Peterman coats myself and regularly have spastic episodes of preventing myself from buying more. :)

Today I'm cleaning the bathroom, writing half of an exam, and serving as a sleeping platform for cats. That's an excellent coat! I have a much-loved leather jacket of theirs.

The better half and I are about to sit down and watch Monsters (Gareth Edwards) After hearing he was doing a remake of Godzilla, I read up on his other work and it sounded interesting and it wasn't unreasonably expensive so I got it. Later, we will make oatmeal cookies, and enjoy them while we watch our Saturday night anime programs.

The younger of our two little red-heads turned six (!) today, so we got to be grandparents bearing gifts.

It seems to be the day for appreciating coats. Our daughter was so very pleased to have found a wool peacoat for her birthdayness -- it will be for next year, but the $12 on-sale price tag was too good to pass up!

My husband, son and I saw "Frozen" this evening. It was wonderful! We all sang our favorite songs coming home, and none of them were the same! Much fun. Also continued reading the new David Weber Safehold book, and wrote two papers that are due for my Master's today. It was a beautiful blue sky day, watched the cows in the (for now) green field in back of our place and took our dog and cat for a walk. Yes, the cat likes to walk with us and he is always welcome. PS - I love the coat, spent some time going through the pages.

I've discovered Skyrim this year and am on my first playthrough - I haven't been able to play computer games for a few years due to eye problems, so it's amazing what's out there in the way of rpgs - I liked the Dragon Age series even better.

I've been meaning for some time to mention how much I enjoy the picture of your little redhead, along with the dramlitz reference tag line. And now I know the tag line is also a play on "grandma" - well done.

We are inordinately proud of both of them. Drammar was the best our grandson could do when he finally decided to name me -- so there it is! (I kinda wish it had stuck, but I'm just plain grandma now.)

No worries. LiveJournal has been acting wonky the last couple days. Springtime in the wires, I guess.
