That title change threw me the first time I read it. I love that series and just re-read it.

I remember years ago hearing the story that someone on a convention panel asked CJ's editor at DAW what the title of the next Chanur book was. Editor had brain cramp and sort of improvised, "Uh. The Kif Strike Back."

When CJ heard this, she so delighted, she changed the title of the book on the spot.

I was particularly glad I had heard this story last night when Steve said, "Chanur's Revenge? We don't have that one in the to-be-read pile; you didn't pack it already, did you?"

Ha! Thank you for the back-story! I keep forgetting about that change every time I go to read the series and scramble about trying to find a non-existent book :)
