Road Trip Update
Saturday, April 14th, 2007 07:09 amSteve called last night from the parking lot of a motel in Newburgh, New York -- which was unfortunately full. About forty-five minutes later he called again, having successfully hunted and gathered a room some miles up the road, and was about to become a Horizontal Bean.
The bad news of course is that he drove 'way longer yesterday than he had planned (the plan being that he was going to err on the side of the Goddess Caution, since he has no co-pilot on this trip. The *good* news, of course is that he's much closer to Maine than we had expected he would be by this time on a gray Saturday. This is made Especially Good by the fact that the Weather Gurus are calling a nor'easter, starting Sunday night.
Yes, there is still time to take advantage of the Road Trip Special. Those folks who have already Seized the Day and those who have donated to the Trip Jar -- Blessings on All of Your Houses! You can't know how much this helps.
The icon, by the way, is Mozart in the crow's nest, scanning the horizon for a UHaul Truck.
