Crystal Dragon Update
Saturday, March 18th, 2006 09:07 amWe now have firm evidence that Amazon.com is shipping Crystal Dragon. They even admit on the book page that they can get their hands on a copy and ship in within four days. This is an eight-day improvement over yesterday afternoon's twelve-day turnaround and immensely better than yesterday morning's 6-12 weeks.
BN.com still claims not to have any such book for sale. This means, as we are told by the publisher, that they used their first shipment to fill pre-orders; the book won't be appearing on-line or in stores until the second shipment is received.
Uncle Hugo's in Minneapolis has received 50 signed books. Uncle Hugo's takes phone, mail, and email orders. Their webpage is here. I'm just sayin'. ...
kinzel reminds me that Uncle Hugo's has already delivered some of these copies to customers who pre-ordered through them.
Here at the Cat Farm, we have books, but we are still awaiting the paperwork from Meisha Merlin. This paperwork was promised for Thursday, but someone in the office forgot that the state of abbreviation for Maine is ME not MA -- and so the package went to Massachusetts. We're told that it may show up today, but more likely Monday. As soon as we have those papers in hand we can start packing individual orders and hauling them to the post office. Considering the number of pre-orders that were made through Meisha Merlin, this part of the process could take a couple weeks. Be aware that the labels provided are in alphabetical order, and that is how the books will be mailed.
Those who pre-ordered -- thank you for your patience and understanding.
kinzel and I very much regret the various snafus that have developed in this process. We don't, as a rule, prefer to live in a Monty Python skit...
