I'm cheating, big time, because I don't have the needed fortune to keep a real fantasy color dye job as it needs to be kept. Also, 'waaaaay too fond of hot showers, and the bright colors last longest if you wash them in cold water. C'mon I live in the country in Maine; the well water is frigid in August.

So, anyhow -- My Secret. And you must bear in mind that my hair is almost entirely silver, so I don't bleach it, either. I went here: http://overtone.co/ -- and ordered in some of the sample colored conditioners in Vibrant. I got purple, red, and blue. I wash my hair, I put in the color conditioner, wait five minutes, rinse it lightly out, pat hair dry. It looks as it looks, and washes out next time, or time after.

My experimentation has shown that just using, say, blue, by itself gives an. . .extremely subtle effect. Too subtle, for me. The experiment shown is a mixture of red and purple conditioners, which seems to produce a deeper color, and I love the lavender look.
