rolanni: (Marvin's not happy)

I have not been able to reliably get into sharonleewriter.com or pinbeambooks.com for the last, oh, day and a half.  I'm told other people can see the public pages -- which I can't see, either -- and Down For Everyone assures me that they're up.  I just can't see them, or do any work inside the sites.

Hopefully, this will resolve itself. . .soon.

*glares at internet*

As I write this, six eChapbooks have been converted and submitted to various vendors via Draft2Digital.  They should be appearing soon at Kobo, the iStore, and other vendors.  As already stated -- all Pinbeam Book titles are now, and have been since Forever, available from BN and Amazon.

Moving on -- Alliance of Equals currently has 103! reader reviews on Amazon.  Ladies and gentlemen, we are over the hump; the hard part is done.  We need a measly 97! more reviews to hit our goal of 200.

I'm really impressed with you guys -- thank you all.

Also!  If you're looking for suggestions for good reads (and who isn't?), an astute reader pointed out this list, which!  In addition to some titles that look positively yummy for my own personal reading -- includes Alliance of Equalshttp://www.tor.com/2016/07/18/favorite-books-of-2016-so-far/ ; (Thanks to Mike Barker for providing the link)

The comments are also worth mining.

One expected check arrived today, which was a Good Thing, also a check that I hadn't been expecting.  This leaves three outstanding checks, and I very much hope that today's delivery has broken the streak.

I really do think that's all the news that's fit to print.  This blog will be the main blog until we can get back into sharonleewriter.com. Also -- yes, I am aware that the Pinbeam Books catalog page has not been update, and I'm just as frustrated by that as you are.  We'll all just have to practice patience.

A reminder about this blog -- you must be a member of LJ, signed in to LJ to comment.  The settings are inconvenient, I know (and no, I don't expect you to open an LJ account just so you can comment here) but they are also necessary to cut down on the Really Incredible Amount of spam that was coming through.

Everybody have a good weekend.

I have no problem with sharonleewriter.com - didn't try the others due to time constraints...

Yes, but it doesn't really help ME if the entire internet can see my blog, but I can't, now does it?

Have you cleaned out your temporary internet files and cookies? That has sometimes fixed my woes, and for a fix it's Real Cheap.

Then it's a matter for Belle to fix, isn't it?

Including flushing the DNS cache? Or, how about bypassing that entirely and using a hosts file entry (to 173 dot 236 dot 79 dot 234)?

Well, beyond that, I finally managed to get three reviews up -- Amazon, Audible, and MobileRead. I'm guessing you're only counting reviews on Amazon itself, not those on Audible, though, so that only adds one more to the total.

The news from our webhost is that the security system on his end was triggered from our end, which resulted in the security system blocking our ISP. Our ISP is Time-Warner, which even now is melding its systems with Comcast. We are also located at the End of the Cable.

I do have a mobile hotspot that I believe I will deploy just to do housekeeping until this gets straightened out, or I throw in the towel and retire to a small tropical island to imbibe rum drinks and admire the scenery until my liver gives out -- whichever comes first. Frankly, I'm not betting on the rum drinks, but it's nice to hold the option open.

Thank you for taking the time to write reviews -- three! The reason we're counting Amazon, of course, is that it's easier to see progress in one venue than across many.

Ah, ISP/Hosting idiocy. That can be more than a little painful. Deploying a wireless hotspot is, of course, a working solution, though rapidly costly if you do much. Another option is to use a VPN solution to mask your originating location and ISP. There are lots of these, and some are even free, at least for some trial period. This would allow you to appear, from the webhost's perspective, as being on a road trip to, say, Montreal. In any case, deploying some sort of workaround while the ISP and the webhost argue with each other is probably necessary if you aren't willing to settle for the rum drinks. (Query, can one still write Liaden books while imbibing copious rum drinks?? Yeah, I was afraid that was the answer. )
